Master Class Style

The Cecchetti/Balanchine curriculum is my foundation. I take it one step further by teaching in a “thinking” environment. Through emphasis on anatomical awareness, functional movement, and musicality I believe that the dancer will experience a new approach all while learning to use their bodies as a skilled machine.

Intermediate Level Ballet

Class Details

Students should perform all basic level techniques while continuing to build your ballet vocabulary.   


Students will work on the following:   

  • Develop understanding of dynamics in music and musical phrasing along with its relationship to the quality of the dancing 
  • Explore additional ballet vocabulary 
  • Maintain proper alignment while executing various ballet steps
  • Continue to work on strengthening the muscles of the legs and feet


BALLET TECHNIQUE ONLY 

ages 9 to 13 

 1 ½ hours


BALLET TECHNIQUE & PILATES / STRENGTH COMBINED

 ages 9 to 13  

2 hours

Advanced Level Ballet

Class Details

Students should have an extensive ballet vocabulary and ability to perform all proper basic technique. Students can now begin to train en pointe. 


Students will work on the following:

  • Challenge musicality by working with a variety of music styles 
  • Continue to improve strength, flexibility, extension, and coordination 
  • Continue to work on the artistry of each dancing movement
  • Execute complex variations at the barre and in center


BALLET TECHNIQUE 

ages 13 to 18

BALLET TECHNIQUE & PILATES / STRENGTH COMBINED 

ages 13 to 18

 2 ½ hours

Pre-Professional Level Ballet

Class Details

  


Students at this level will have made a full commitment to the serious study of ballet. You have potential to go into a career in dance or pursue a dance major in college. You will integrate the artistry, the complexity, and the challenges of dancing en Pointe in every class. 


Students will work on the following:

  • Develop strength and ability to dance all ballet repertory en Pointe
  • Improve understanding of the subtleties of movement while executing steps 
  • Increase understanding of dynamics in music and musical phrasing and its relationship to the quality of the dancing 
  • Create clarity in the details of each step, placement of the arms and head, fully pointed feet, and exact timing of a step
  • Enrich dance steps with additional turns and beats, with higher elevation in leaps and jumps, and with greater extension 


BALLET TECHNIQUE 

ages 15 and up

BALLET TECHNIQUE & PILATES / STRENGTH COMBINED

Pilates-Strength Training

Class Details

My Pilates-Strength Training classes introduce students to basics of Pilates and specific conditioning exercises to help with building strength and flexibility. I focus on the application of specific movements allowing for improved training, health, and longevity. 


PILATES-STRENGTH TRAINING 

Intermediate Level ages 9 to 13 

1 hour


Advanced Level ages 13 to 18 

1 ½ hours


Pre-Professional Level ages 15 and up

1 ½ hours
